SUMMARY:21st Annual Mount Snow Oktoberfest
DESCRIPTION:Like most German-themed Oktoberfest events\, the 21st Annual Mount Snow Oktoberfest will have plenty of beer\, schnitzel and Oom-pah music; but throw in kids games\, pumpkin painting\, an apple sling shot and the famous “schnitzel toss” and you’ve got two days of fun for the whole family! A Columbus Day Weekend tradition since 1997\, the Mount Snow Oktoberfest is one of our signature festivals and was named a 2018 Top 10 Fall Event by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. \nThe Kid’s Zone is where families will find festival games like the beanbag toss\, a huge bouncy house\, pumpkin painting and other kid-friendly activities. While the young ones are playing\, the big kids can enjoy a large selection of beers from at least 25 different German and domestic breweries as well as authentic German fare served out of Der Markeplatz in the Main Base Lodge and the sausage roast outside of Cuzzins. Plus\, try your hand at games like the keg toss\, yodeling contest and stein holding as well as a horseshoe tournament. For you shoppers\, don’t forget the 44th Annual Harvest Arts & Crafts Show going on inside the Base Lodge and for the “athletic beer drinkers” there’s the 6th Annual Gulp and Gallop 5k Beer Run on Saturday! \nThe Bluebird Express will be open each day of the festival for scenic rides to the summit! The Bullwheel will be open with beer and food as well. Please note: due to high demand\, we will have to limit uphill capacity to the summit. Check with the lift staff about wait times before going for your ride. \nHours \nGates open at 11 a.m. and the festival closes at 5 p.m.\nLast ticket sale will be at 4 p.m. both days.\nLast token sale 4pm. Last Call at 4:15 p.m. Last Pour is at 4:30 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:The Brattleboro Reformer presents the second in our Summer Concert Series.  Kampfires Members and our Guests for event weekends (Inn or Campground) receive special discounts!  Call us at 802-254-2098 for details!\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nHeadliner: \n\n\n\n\n\nWhiskey Treaty Roadshow – A collaborative of five Massachusetts-based singer-songwriters: Tory Hanna\, Billy Keane\, David Tanklefsky\, Greg Smith\, and Chris Merenda. As individuals they have released a total of 18 albums; their live record The Heart of the Run is their first as a band. Join them for a celebration of brotherhood\, spirits\, and foot-stomping folk-rock. \nOther bands in the line up will include: \nThe Backyard Committee – A band from New Haven\, Connecticut that plays melodic roots rock injected with moments of improvisation and experimentation\, much in the spirit of the Grateful Dead\, Neil Young\, and Bob Dylan\, but with indie rock influences like Guided By Voices\, Pavement\, and Neutral Milk Hotel. Mike Sembos (vocals\, guitar or bass) writes the songs and then serves as the editor of the project. His rotating cast of musicians are encouraged to play their instruments using their own ideas and their own voices to make each lineup and each show completely unique. \nEben Viens Band – Eben Viens lives in Brattleboro\, Vermont\, and plays music with a rotating cast of musical characters. In his early years\, Eben could be found busking with the Dusty Neutrals. Nowadays\, he works and writes songs in his spare time. Expect power pop and folk rock with sloppy nods to Westerberg\, Partridge\, McLennan and more. \nFood trucks: \nAnon’s Thai Food \nTito’s Taqueria \nWhetstone Station \nCraft Beer: \nWhetstone Craft Beer \nThe Nitty Gritty Details: \n\nThe festival starts at 2 and ends at 8.\nThis event is outdoors and will be held rain-or-shine.\nNo BYOB. SUMMARY:MARLBORO MUSIC FESTIVAL
DESCRIPTION:Marlboro Music is widely acclaimed as the world’s foremost center for leadership training in music. For seven weeks each summer\, exceptional young musicians and master artists come together to form a closely-knit family on the campus of Marlboro College—a separate institution—in the foothills of rural\, southern Vermont. \nStepping away from the daily demands of their profession\, the artists at Marlboro have the unique opportunity to rehearse works from the vast chamber music repertoire in great depth\, with ideal conditions\, and with unlimited time. Under the guidance of Artistic Director Mitsuko Uchida and her senior artist colleagues\, the resident musicians share with one another—and then with audiences on five weekends of public performances—the joyful and inspired results of their intensive collaborations. \nMarlboro Music was founded in 1951 by Rudolf Serkin\, Adolf and Hermann Busch\, and Marcel\, Blanche\, and Louis Moyse. For more over 65 years\, Marlboro has had a profound influence on generations of leading chamber music artists and ensembles\, recitalists\, principals in the world’s major orchestras\, singers\, composers\, artistic directors\, and teachers. \nWe invite you to join us at what The New Yorker Magazine describes as “The classical world’s most coveted retreat.” \nJuly 13-August 11\, on the campus of Marlboro College in Marlboro\, VT \nAfter three weeks of daily rehearsals\, Marlboro artists begin sharing the results of their in-depth collaborations with audiences. Public concerts are presented on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons\, and on Friday evenings\, in August. The programs will be selected from the 60-80 groups in rehearsal at any one time; only one quarter of the more than 250 works explored during the summer can be included. \nEach week\, groups who feel that they have achieved especially successful results will recommend their works for performance. As a result of this dynamic scheduling process\, we do not know concert repertoire or personnel more than a week in advance. Yet\, the performances provide exciting musical discoveries and represent the joyous spirit and dedication to excellence of the entire Marlboro Music community. The concerts can sell out quickly\, so we urge you to reserve your seats as early as possible. \nHow to Order Tickets\nTickets for the Marlboro Music Festival are on sale now. \nOrder online at marlboromusic.org\nBy phone at 215-569-4690\nOr by mail (click here to be sure you receive our Ticket Brochure). \n

SUMMARY:Bluegrass Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Brattleboro Reformer presents the first of four festivals in our Summer Concert Series.  Kampfires Members and our Guests for event weekends (Inn or Campground) receive special discounts!  Call us at 802-254-2098 for details!\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nHeadliner: \nJordan Tice & Horse County – Jordan Tice is a singular voice on the American roots music scene. The band on “Horse County” is also top-notch and includes such first call players as Paul Kowert (Punch Brothers) on bass\, Dominick Leslie (Deadly Gentlemen) on mandolin\, Mike Witcher (Peter Rowan) on dobro\, Brittany Haas (Crooked Still) and Shad Cobb on fiddles\, and Noam Pikelny (Punch Brothers) on banjo. The record was recorded by guitarist Chris Eldridge who also\, along with Jordan\, co-produced the session. \nOther bands in the line-up will include: \nThe Stockwell Brothers – The Stockwell Brothers are Green Mountain Newgrass artists. Their music spans traditional and progressive styles\, but their trademark acoustic sound features new singer/songwriter material recast with banjo\, alternative rhythms and three-part harmonies. They cover straight ahead bluegrass songs\, finger picked acoustic guitar ballads\, full tilt breakdowns and traditional mandolin tunes mixed in with more unusual fare – Americana melodies riding world beat grooves and Celtic\, jazzy\, even neo-classical instrumentals. \nPinedrop – Pinedrop’s fresh Americana sound skillfully intertwines folk and bluegrass. This four-piece band from Brattleboro\, Vermont features Derek Sensale’s mesmerizing songwriting and vocals\, Dan Bisson on upright bass\, Nick Paar on mandolin and Charlie Peckar on fiddle. Pinedrop has played venues and festivals near and far\, including MASS MoCA’s acclaimed FreshGrass Festival. \nFood trucks and brews: \nAnon’s Thai Food \nTito’s Taqueria \nWhetstone Station \nThe Nitty Gritty Details: \n\nThe festival starts at 1:00 and ends at 7:00.\nThis event is outdoors and will be held rain-or-shine.\nID’s are checked at the entrance. No BYOB.\nAdditional tickets will be available for $18 at the gate.\nWe love dogs too\, but sorry\, no dogs will be allowed in the festival.\nThis is a family friendly event. Children under 3 receive free admission.\n\nNeed a place to stay? Contact Kampfires Campground at (802) 254-2098 to rent a room or camp site.

SUMMARY:Fantastic Partnerz
DESCRIPTION:Whetstone Station Restaurant and Brewery presents: \nThe Fantastic Partnerz are on a mission to get butts moving. 100% original music from southern Vermont\, the Partnerz blend their mix of influences into a sonic brew that defies categories. The Partnerz are old- and new-schoolers from a wide variety of past posses: Keene Carse (Urban Blight\, The Beastie Boys\, The Fleshtones) grounds the band with his smoothio vocals\, trombone\, and funky drumming; Trish Naudon (America’s Sweetheart\, The Natch!) laces in her sexy vocal stylings and adds her beats on the kit; Dan Seiden (The Round Band\, Lisa Loeb) brings his smart guitar and vocals to the formula; Dave Rountree (Text Betty\, Smiley Bob) locks down the low end with his bumping bass and backing vocals; Eric DeLuca (Hungry Ghost\, Lars) swipes flavorful keys across the top; and Chris Thomas (Lesion\, furniture music) adds additional dirty guitar and vocals. Cooked on “high” for one year\, the Partnerz are about to release their overdue debut album of tunes. Their agenda is simple and they will preach it: “You’ve got to get up to get down.” \nNever a cover charge!
